Spring is Halfway Through ~ Lots of Green Grass

The grass has greened up a lot and is growing in spite of the below normal temperatures. We have only cut some of the spots in which the grass has grown a lot. Our yard is just too wet in places to support the large Yazoo. When it dries up this old machine will have no problem cutting through high grass.

We expect lows in the 30s tonight but the weather forecast is for some more normal 60 degree weather this week. The problem with the forecast is that very few of the days do have rain in them. The rain this morning dissipated and the sun came out. The clouds in the blue sky were a welcome sight even though it may frost tonight.

The leaves are starting to come out on the trees but they seem a bit late as do some of the blossoms. The ground is still saturated and walking around on the grass splashes mud onto our clothing. Our boots make a squishing sound with every step.

Rabbits seem a bit scarce in our neighborhood since there are also lots of coyotes around. I have seen one large rabbit in our yard for the last few days. I hope it has some good hiding places.
