Things Happening Around the Yard

The myrtle ground cover is doing quite well. It seems to thrive in all types of soil and all kinds of weather. If it would take  over most of the yard that would be OK with us. My newly set moss garden under that red Japanese maple that you can see in the last picture has been torn up somewhat each day. I wet it down really well again today. Perhaps the mossy bird nests that have appeared under the eaves on both ends of one of the little sheds may have something to do with it but there is so many places where  moss is growing around the yard that the birds could have acquired it anywhere. The two flowering crab apple trees should be in full bloom in a couple of days. The red leaves on the Japanese Maple are unfolding and it won't be long before it provides plenty of shade.
