Not in the mood to blog today. The untimely death of my brother has left many stressful cleanup chores at his residence. It was not a good place to be.
We hunted up all the bricks that we could find around the pile of old stuff out back. We do think there are about enough to make the path through the garden. Rectangular sidewalk pieces will be on each end of the walk. We are also waiting for a custom made iron plate to be finished for the street light mounting base. Quick Service Welding in Kent will make custom made pieces to order. This walkway and lighting project will most certainly be finished before the snow flies. This is worked on only part time as there are always the usual chores to finish.
The old Boston Township schoolhouse in Peninsula, Ohio has been nicely preserved though it seemed a rather depressing looking place as we passed it yesterday. It was cloudy at the time and some granular snow was falling. The old building is now used for town functions and a great contradance takes place there from time to time. It makes me happy to see the preservation of the historic old buildings. I'm certain this school holds many memories, good and bad, for the people who attended school there.
I found a bright almost neon yellow fungus growing on an old rotted stump yesterday. It was not there at all today. In its place was this weird looking orange spongy fungus. The round finials on the old iron fence have been sealed with caulk so that water will not enter the hollow posts. Any day that we see a honeybee is a bright day. May your day be bright Full of sunshine and flowers Sunny thoughts and love -Caroline
