Fun At the Flea Market
This seller has creative stacking talents!
Saturday brings in a lot of the area Amish.
Russ wanders around on Friday which is the day before the flea market is scheduled.
We did not help.
It was in the 30s and windy
and we are old!
It was very muddy!
There were fewer people than usual.
A tent city
Gray skies prevailed until 9AM.
We had a nice view behind our camper until the cars parked there.

FLEA MARKET FUN
We decided to take a trip to the Hazen, Pennsylvania flea market this weekend. Yes, we knew that Friday night would be cold and rainy but that did not deter us. We arrived in the cold rain and wind and got out and walked around anyway and actually found some things and renewed some friendships. We retreated to our camper when the rain showers and wind became intense. We decided not to help the ladies that were setting up in front of our camper. The mud was deep and some of the sellers were quite chagrined to find their usual spots unusable. New spots were found for them and they set up anyway.
We turned off the heat in the camper when we retired and found it tolerable as long as we stayed under the covers in the low thirty degree temperatures.
This particular market is very popular and usually many more people with their dogs and baby strollers clog the aisles. The lack of early sun, low morning temperatures and mud may have kept many buyers away.
We walked from 6:30 AM until 10:30 PM. We did stop to chat with old friends at times when not searching the tables and tarps for items that we might use. We headed for the fire hall to have lunch. The volunteer fire department serves a large and varied lunch menu which is served up in their large warm fire hall. A large cup of soup, we had chili, was only $2.75. This came with all the french bread, margarine and crackers that you cared to eat. It was very good and sustained us on the long 145 mile ride home.
Our legs are tired from all the walking!
