The Weather Stick
I really did not feel like stepping out of the front door to take this picture so I took it through the window. The thermometer is on the sunny side of the house and shows a temperature that was about five degrees warmer than it actually was at the time the picture was taken.
One of our friends gave us the weather stick for Christmas a couple of years ago. It really works. When it is wet and rainy the stick points downward and when the weather is fair and dry it curves upwards. The balsam fir sapling works quite well to show the humidity in the air. It seems to be in a rather neutral position today. It is called a natural barometer by those who sell them.
